Ryan Jackson Named Muscle Milk Student Athlete of the Week

June 2, 2008 Coral Gables, FLA (www.hurricanesports.com) — – Sophomore shortstop Ryan Jackson has been named the Muscle Milk Student Athlete of the Week for the period May 26 to June 1. Jackson’s stellar defensive play and offense led him to be named the Most Outstanding Player at the Coral Gables Regional held May 30-June 1.In the Regional, Jackson batted .545 (6 of 11) with two home runs and four runs batted in. The Hurricanes opened Regional play Friday, May 30 with a 7-4 victory over Bethune Cookman. The team then defeated the Missouri Tigers 6-5 on Saturday and claimed the Regional title with an 11-2 victory over Mississippi on Sunday. Miami will host the Arizona Wildcats in the NCAA Super Regional this weekend.. |
