The University of Miami athletic department is seeking student interns for the 2024-25 school year! The ideal candidates will be hard-working and dedicated individuals with a passion for athletics.

Athletic Training - Student Assistant

Job Description:

  • Assist with practice field set up and hydrating athletes during practices
  • Assist in organizing and packing supplies for games
    • Spring game / fall semester
  •  Potential game coverage including travel experience
    • Spring game / fall season
  • Manage Gatorade inventory and receiving of shipments
  • Monitor athletic training room inventory, storage, and restocking of supplies
  • Equipment maintenance/upkeep

General time commitment:

  • 15-20 hrs per week
  • Roughly 7am-1pm
  • Must be available for 2 days/week

Canes Connect Student-Athlete Development - Internship

We are committed to the personal and professional development of our student-athlete population. We support the student-athletes by focusing on: Personal Enhancement, Community Outreach, Leadership Development, & Career Competence. These components make up our comprehensive programming under Canes Connect.

Responsibilities of the internship will include but are not limited to:

  1. Assist with programming regarding the above-mentioned components.
  2. Help with assessment of programming sessions.
  3. Coordinate and plan various events and programs.
  4. Track sexual misconduct trainings.
  5. Documentation of events via photographs and videos.
  6. Contribute to social media content.
  7. Oversee food drive challenge.

Requirements:

  • This is unpaid, must be able to receive academic credit
  • 10-15 office hours weekly
  • Some evening and weekend events as necessary
  • At least junior level in classification
  • Must maintain confidentiality
  • Adhere to ACC, NCAA and University of Miami policies and procedures

Communications - Internship

Miami Athletics is seeking communications interns for the 2024-2025 season. In this role, you will receive hands-on, real-world experience in the field of athletic communications. You will assist full-time sport contacts with various weekly and gameday tasks, including but not limited to writing, statistical research, press box operations and more.

Interns will be paid hourly or they may work for class-credit. We highly encourage participating in a class-credit capacity, as it will provide you the most in-office experience. Creative Production - Photo Internship

In this role you will assist the athletics creative team during home games for all sports and other athletic events. We are looking for someone who has prior photo experience. Facilities, Events, & Operations - Internship

Miami Athletics is seeking applications for a full-time paid internship with the Facilities, Events & Operations division. This position will serve as a facility manager and contributes by completing facility assessments, maintenance repairs, and small projects.  This position will also assist with the set up and teardown of home athletic contests, as well as external events held within UM’s athletic venues.

Marketing - Internship

University of Miami Athletics is looking for marketing/game presentation interns for the 2024-2025 season. In this role you will assist in the game day experience for football, men’s and women’s basketball, baseball, and other Olympic sports. You will ensure that all marketing and game day materials are ready for game time. This includes giveaways, assisting hosts, assisting with on field/on court promotional games, and other duties as assigned. Student interns report directly to the Assistant Director of Marketing and Event Experience. First-year intern pay starts at $15 per hour worked.

Sports Nutrition - Internship

Olympic Sports: This opportunity is great for any highly motivated self-starter that has an interest in nutrition and sports science. General responsibilities include supporting daily fueling needs of Hurricane Athletics, maintain nutrition center spaces and satellite nutrition locations, as well as helping with game day nutrition preparations.

Ticket Operations - Student Service Specialist

The Student Service Specialist is primarily responsible for providing exceptional customer service to all ticket holders at the University of Miami. This person should be a self-motivated and positive professional. This position is responsible for assisting Senior Ticket Service Representatives and Director, Service in the service and new sales of ticket holders. This position will be focused on building relationships, servicing all Hurricanes supporters, driving revenue, and being a positive steward and representative of Legends and the University of Miami.
