40th Annual Miami Football Awards Banquet Scheduled for December 19

Coral Gables, Fla. (www. hurricanesports.com) – – The annual University of Miami Football Banquet, co-sponsored by the Miami Touchdown Club and the Hurricane Club, will be held Monday, December 19 at the Sheraton Mart Hotel, 711 NW 72nd Avenue (west of MIA, off SR836).

The 2005 senior class will be recognized, and individual awards in a variety of categories including team Most Valuable Player, will be announced. Don Bailey Jr., a former UM lineman and color analyst of WQAM’s radio broadcasts of Hurricanes games, will serve as Master of Ceremonies at the banquet.
Advance tickets to the banquet are priced at $65. A limited number of “premier” tables are available for $1,000. Tickets may be purchased by calling the Hurricane Club at 305/284-6699 in Miami-Dade County. Fans calling from outside the local area may call 1-800-GO-CANES (option 6). Advance sale will take place until December 15. Tickets may also be purchased at the door the night of the event for $80.
There are 18 seniors on the 2005 football squad: OT Rashad Butler, DE Thomas Carroll, WR Tanard Davis, PK Mark Gent, DT Orien Harris, FB Quadtrine Hill, CB Kelly Jennings, CB Marcus Maxey, LB Rocky McIntosh, G Tyler McMeans, WR Sinorice Moss, DE Javon Nanton, TE Buck Ortega, G Tony Tella, S Greg Threat, LB Leon Williams, OT Eric Winston and RB Jean Volcy.
In its 40th year, proceeds from the Miami Football Banquet benefit the UM Hurricane Club and the Miami Touchdown Club’s “Operation Scholarship” program.
