CAREER: Veteran player who can play either running back or fullback…Heads into the 2005 season as the starting fullback…Team’s backup fullback and No. 3running back in 2004 served as the primary third-down back most of the season… Split starting duties at fullback in 2003 after holding the job for most of the 2002 season…Straight-line runner with surprising speed who excels as a receiver out of the backfield…Effective blitz stopper as a blocker in pass protection… Also a key member of the special teams…Graduated in August 2004 with a degree in business management and is pursuining a second degree in broadcasting.

 

2004 (JUNIOR): Played as the team’s third-down back all season…Saw action in all 12 games…On the depth chart as the No. 3 tailback and also served as the backup fullback after Kyle Cobia was injured…For the season, rushed 20 times for 111 yards and caught 15 passes for 91 yards and one touchdown…Caught 2 passes for 3 yards in the season opener vs. FloridaState…Rushed 5 times for season-high 29 yards and caught 1 pass for 11 yards vs. Louisiana Tech…Rushed 2 times for 3 yards and caught 1 pass for 7 yards at Houston…Rushed 1 time for 8 yards at Georgia Tech…Rushed 6 times for 28 yards and caught 1 pass for minus-3 yards vs. Louisville…Had his best game of the season at NC State, ran for 27 yards and a first down out of punt formation, setting up the go-ahead touchdown. Also caught 1 pass for 10 yards and scored his only TD of the season…Rushed 1 time for 2 yards and caught 1 pass for 15 yards at North Carolina…Rushed 2 times for 9 yards and caught 1 pass for minus-3 yards vs. Clemson…Rushed 2 times for 5 yards and caught season-high 3 passes for 19 yards in a win at Virginia Played as the third-down back, catching 2 passes for 10 yards vs. Wake Forest…Did not have any rushes vs. Virginia Tech but caught 1 pass for 9 yards…In the Peach Bowl vs. Florida, played as the third-down back and caught 1 pass for 13 yards.

 

2003 (SOPHOMORE): Played in 12 games, starting six times, and made 12 receptions for 71 yards (5.9 avg.) and carried once for four yards…was hindered by a shoulder injury suffered against Florida (the second game of the season), but returned to action after missing one game (East Carolina)…rushed once for four yards and caught two passes for 13 yards against Louisiana Tech…caught a pass for 13 yards against Florida…caught a pass for two yards against Boston College…made two catches for one yard against West Virginia…had two receptions for six yards against Florida State…made one reception for six yards against Virginia Tech…made one catch for 13 yards against Tennessee…had a seven-yard catch against Pittsburgh…made a 10-yard catch in the FedEx Orange Bowl Classic against Florida State.

2002 (FRESHMAN): Developed into a key component of the UM offense midway through the season as a dual threat running and receiving…a dangerous receiver out of the backfield, catching passes in seven games…rushed seven times for 16 yards and one touchdown and caught 15 passes for 192 yards (12.8 ypc)…caught a clutch eight-yard pass in overtime of the Fiesta Bowl against Ohio State…rushed twice for seven yards against Virginia Tech and was a key blocker on several of Willis McGahee’s six touchdown runs…blocked a punt against Virginia Tech…rushed for a two-yard score on his only carry against Syracuse and caught a pass for seven yards…had a 19-yard catch against Pittsburgh…had a career-high six catches for 108 yards against West Virginia to key a strong second half outburst by the UM offense in a 40-23 victory…made a 42-yard catch against the Mountaineers…caught two passes for 16 yards in the win over Boston College…missed the Connecticut game with an injury…made a 17-yard catch for his only reception against Temple…rushed three times for seven yards and made two catches for six yards in the win at Florida…made an 11-yard catch in 23 victory…made a 42-yard catch against the Mountaineers…caught two passes for 16 yards in the win over Boston College…missed the Connecticut game with an injury…made a 17-yard catch for his only reception against Temple…rushed three times for seven yards and made two catches for six yards in the win at Florida…made an 11-yard catch in his debut against Florida A&M…took over as the starting fullback during two-a-day practices.

2001 (REDSHIRT): Sat out the 2001 season with a redshirt and played on the Hurricanes’ scout team.

HIGH SCHOOL: Piper…rushed for 1,356 yards and 20 touchdowns as a senior in 2000, averaging more than seven yards per carry…the No. 6 prospect in Broward County by the Miami Herald, as well as No. 20 in the state…timed at 4.6 in the 40…rated the No. 18 prospect overall in Florida by SuperPrep…listed as the No. 3 tailback on the Florida Times-Union Super 75 list…the second-rated running back in Florida by SuperPrep…a SuperPrep All-American…No. 32 rated running back prospect in the nation by SuperPrep…an outstanding student with a 4.3 grade-point average…coached by Doug Gatewood.
