CORAL GABLES, Fla. The University of Miami soccer team will head north in Florida to face Stetson Sunday in its second and final exhibition match of 2015.

The Hurricanes and Hatters will meet at 1:00 p.m. at Athletic Training Center in DeLand, Fla. The teams met last season during the regular season, with the Hurricanes winning 3-0 in Coral Gables.

Miami will be looking to win both of its exhibitions contests for the second season in a row after defeating FIU 1-0 Thursday in a match that last just under 44 minutes due to weather. Sophomore forward Ronnie Johnson netted the lone goal in the 18th minute off an assist from redshirt senior midfielder Erin McGovern, who was recently named one of the team’s captains.

McGovern led the team in assists during the 2014 season, while fellow captain Natalie Moik, a senior midfielder/defender, paced the Hurricanes in points, goals and shots last year. The duo is among Miami’s eight returning starters from 2014, as are the other captains, junior midfielder Gianna Dal Pozzo and redshirt junior defender Shannon McCarthy.

Stetson posted a 5-12-1 mark last year, including a 3-5 record in Atlantic Sun Conference play. The team plays its first exhibition match this season Friday at home against USF.

Just days taking on the Hatters, the Hurricanes will travel to Charleston, S.C. to open regular season play in the Charleston Nike Classic. Miami will play the College of Charleston Friday, Aug. 21 at 7:30 p.m. and then square off against Texas Tuesday, Aug. 23 at 12:00 p.m.
