Morris Accepts Invite to 2014 Senior Bowl

MOBILE, Ala. – Miami Hurricanes senior QB Stephen Morris has accepted an invitation to play in the 2014 Reese’s Senior Bowl, the bowl announced Monday. Morris joins teammate Brandon Linder, who accepted his Senior Bowl invitation last week.

A third-team All-ACC choice, Morris has thrown for 2,868 yards and 21 TDs through 12 games. For the second straight season, Morris has posted four 300-yard passing games. The Miami native ranks third all-time in Miami history with 7,736 passing yards and 49 passing TDs. Morris is the only QB this season to throw a 50+ yard pass in nine different games.

Morris, who has also been invited to play in the 2014 East-West Shrine Game, will be the 65th Miami Hurricane to play in the Senior Bowl and the first Canes QB since Brock Berlin in 2005. The 2014 Reese’s Senior Bowl, which is played annually at Mobile’s Ladd-Peebles Stadium, will kick at 4 p.m. ET on Sat., Jan. 25 and will be televised on the NFL Network.

No. 25 Miami (9-3) will play No. 18/16 Louisville (11-1) in the 2013 Russell Athletic Bowl on Dec. 28 in Orlando. Tickets, which are priced at $77 and $82, can be purchased through the UM Ticket Office online at, in-person at BankUnited Center (M-F 8:30 a.m.-5 p.m.) or by phone at 1-800-GO-CANES.
