Yesterday, we had the first day off in a little while. Maybe a little bit of relief, but we know that we have to get as much practice in as possible. While it was nice to get a rest, we’re excited to get the season off. We’re coming back in today and working hard and getting ready for the season to open up.

Just to talk about yesterday. We had the (First Pitch) banquet yesterday. It was a FUN DAY! I would say. We had Roy Firestone doing a whole bunch of impressions, keeping everyone on their toes, cracking a few jokes on some of the guys and some of our coaches. So it was a good time, having a good laugh right before the season started. Freshmen got to know what’s it’s like with all our fan base following us so they can know what Miami baseball is really about.

We played a couple of jokes on them (freshmen) yesterday too. We’re just excited for them to get out there on opening day as well.

Today, it’s probably going to be a little bit of a longer practice. We’re going to come out here and take some cuts, run some drills and tone up our D(efense), before this weekend and Cincinnati. Cincinnati should be a really good team, so we’re not going to come out here and take them lightly.

We want to get off to a good start right away. We believe they have a few really good guys that we’re already keeping our eye on. We just need to come out and give it our best shot on opening day.

The level of excitement is really high right now. We are all excited to start the season off. We can’t stress that enough. We’re usually 10 games into the season right now. We are really pushing ourselves to give it our best shot. At the same time, we’re enjoying ourselves. Everybody is doing what they got to do to get better. We are prepared for the most part I think.

Anyway, that’s what’s going on today. That’s what’s going on in the locker room. Everyone is excited and we’re about to get practice going again. Thanks for reading and hopefully, we’ll see everyone out at Mark Light in a couple of days.
