Hurricanes Baseball FanFest Set for Saturday

CORAL GABLES, <?xml:namespace prefix=”st1″ ns=”urn:schemas-microsoft-com:office:smarttags”?>Fla. – The University of Miami Baseball team will hold their second annual Hurricanes Baseball FanFest on Saturday, Feb. 16 from 4 p.m.-7p.m. at Mark Light Field. Admission is free to the public. Immediately following FanFest, the 2008 Hurricanes will take part in an intra-squad scrimmage.

FanFest will feature a bounce house and interactive area for kids, speed pitch area, team autograph session and the homerun challenge & derby. Fans can also purchase the latest Hurricanes apparel and more. Baseball season ticket holders will be able to participate in the annual season ticket holder batting practice day from 4- 5:30pm. Miami is ranked as high as No. 10 in the Baseball America preseason poll heading into the 2008 season. Five Hurricanes have been named preseason All-Americans in Yonder Alonso, Eric Erickson, Dennis Raben, Blake Tekotte and Jemile Weeks.
Miami opens the 2008 season Fri. Feb. 22 when they host Cincinnati in the first game of a three-game series.
