UM BASEBALL BEGINS 2007 SEASON SATURDAY, JANUARY 27

Coral Gables, Fla. – The University of Miami baseball team will begin its 2007 schedule with the Annual Alumni Game and the first-ever FanFest Saturday, January 27. Admission to both events at Mark Light Field (corner of Ponce de Leon and San Amaro Drive in Coral Gables) is free to the public.
The FanFest will begin at 4 p.m. and continue until the first pitch of the Alumni Game at 7 p.m. Activities at the FanFest include inflatable events, an interactive area, face painting and a season ticket Select-A-Seat. From 5 p.m. to 5:30 p.m. an autograph sessions will be held and at 6 p.m. the Qdoba Home Run Challenge will take place with one fan getting the opportunity to win prizes by hitting a home run. Also at that time, two current players will face off against two alumni in the Qdoba Home Run Derby.
More than 65 former players are expected to be in attendance for the event. Among the alumni expected to play in the game versus the current squad are Danny and Paco Figueroa, Richard Giannotti, Jon Jay, Andrew Lane, Adam Ricks, Eddy Rodriguez, Erick San Pedro and Danny Valencia.
