Spent most of his freshman season as Miami’s designated hitter … Likely to see some time at either of the corner outfield spots … Switch hitter who could also be called upon to pinch hit late in games … From the same high school as former UM All-America second baseman Jemile Weeks.

FRESHMAN SEASON – 2009
•Hit .273 (35-for-128) with 25 walks, 13 RBI and 21 runs scored in 44 games
•Made 36 starts (28 – DH, 8 – OF)
•Led the Hurricanes with a .391 average (9-for-23) in seven postseason games (three ACC tournament and four NCAA tournament)
•Hit .555 (5-for-9) with two RBI and two runs scored at Virginia (3/20- 3/22) in his first significant collegiate action
•The best game of his career came at Wake Forest on May 14, when he finished 2-for-5 with two singles, a walk, five RBI and two runs scored
•Hit .351 (13-for-37) over UM’s final 10 games
•Had a career-high three walks vs. Florida State on May 21
•Recorded his first career hit as a pinch-hitter at Florida on March 1
•Hit .000 in February (0-for-2), .286 in March (8-for-28), .277 in April (13-for-47) and .292 in May (14-for-48)
•Had a perfect fielding percentage in 11 chances

PREP CAREER
•Played for Mike Smith at Lake Brantley High School
•Hit .380 with one homer and 12 stolen bases during his senior year in 2008
•Named to the Seminole Athletic Conference first team as a senior
•Named MVP of the Florida State Game his junior and senior seasons
•Helped lead Lake Brantley to a 20-4 record and a 6A state championship
•Played summer ball for the Orlando Scorpions
