CAREER: Versatile lineman who can play both guard and offensive tackle on either side of the line…Proved to be extremely valuable in 2006, making six starts at both left tackle and right tackle…Fine pass protector with long arms…Liberal arts and sociology major.

 

2006 (SOPHOMORE): Had his best season, playing in 12 games and making six starts at right and left tackle…Started two times at left tackle and four games at right tackle…Graded out at 74 percent for the year, allowing only two sacks…Named the team’s Most Improved Offensive Player…Did not play in the season opener vs. Florida State, his only missed game of the season…Made his first collegiate start a week later vs. Florida A&M at left tackle in place of an injured Reggie Youngblood and played most of the game…Started at right tackle in Game 3 at Louisville with Youngblood still out and Jason Fox moving to left tackle. Played all but one play…Started at right tackle vs. Houston and played most of the game…Played as a reserve offensive tackle and on the placekicking unit against North Carolina…Played right tackle in the first quarter of the FIU game when Fox left the game with a knee injury, and then played left tackle in the fourth quarter, taking over for Youngblood…Saw limited action at right tackle at Duke…Played only on the placekicking unit at Georgia Tech, then saw limited action at right tackle against Virginia Tech…Started the Maryland game at right tackle Jason Fox moving to left tackle in place of Youngblood. Played the entire game…Started at right tackle and played the entire game at Virginia…Started at left tackle against Boston Colege because both Fox and Youngblood were injured, and played the entire game…In the MPC Computers Bowl vs. Nevada, blocked on the placekicking unit and played some left guard in the fourth quarter.

 

2005 (FRESHMAN): Played in four games as a reserve right tackle…Played in his first game as a Hurricane against Colorado, seeing action as a reserve in the fourth quarter…Played right tackle in the fourth quarter vs. both South Florida and Duke…Played right tackle in the second quarter at Temple and allowed two sacks…Did not see any game action the remainder of the season…For the year, totaled two pancake blocks and one metrorail block.

 

2004 (REDSHIRT): Sat out his freshman season as a redshirt…Impressed the UM coaches with his work on the scout team.

 

HIGH SCHOOL: Late-comer to the recruiting lists after developing rapidly during his senior season…Played only two years of organized football before enrolling at UM…Rated the No. 43 prospect in Florida by SuperPrep…Rated the nation’s No. 50 offensive tackle by Rivals.com…Rated the No. 94 prospect in Florida on the Orlando Sentinel’s Florida Top 100 list…As a senior in 2003, had 52 pancake blocks…Chose Miami over Florida, North Carolina State, Pittsburgh and Rutgers…Coached by Michael Searcy.
