CUVET IS REWRITING THE HISTORY BOOKS
Sophomore slugger Daniel Cuvet continued his power surge with a three-run homer in the seventh inning against Virginia, his second of the series and 15th of the season. The blast, a line drive to right field, marked the 39th of his career, tying him for 10th all-time in program history with Randy Guerra (1976-79) and Manny Crespo (1998-00).
The sophomore slugger is also on the verge of another milestone, sitting just one RBI shy of matching his freshman total of 75. With his next RBI, Cuvet will tie Hurricanes legend and former MLB All-Star Ryan Braun for sixth-most in a season with 76.
Daniel Cuvet remains one of the hottest hitters in the country, batting .526 (20-for-38) over his last 10 games with six doubles, six home runs, and 24 RBI.
Against ACC pitching, Cuvet continues to shine. He’s batting .398 (39-for-98) in league play with 11 doubles, a triple, nine home runs, and 44 RBI—cementing his status as one of the conference’s most feared hitters.
JAKE AND MAX: 1-2 PUNCH
Jake Ogden and Max Galvin have formed one of the most consistent top-of-the-order tandems in the ACC this season, regularly occupying the leadoff and two-hole spots in the Hurricanes’ lineup.
Ogden leads the team with 23 multi-hit games, including seven three-hit performances. Galvin, a transfer from Oklahoma State, ranks third on the team with 18 multi-hit efforts—14 of which have been two-hit outings.
Galvin enters the week riding an eight-game hitting streak, the longest on the team. Meanwhile, Ogden has reached base in 12 consecutive games, tied for the second-longest streak on the squad this season alongside Daniel Cuvet and Tanner Smith.
Over their last 10 games, Ogden is batting .439 (18-for-41) with five doubles and a .511 on-base percentage. Galvin is hitting .385 (15-for-39) during that span, adding three doubles, a home run, and six RBI to his line.
THE CANES ON THE BUMP
In their last ten contests, the Miami arms have held their opponents to a .268 batting average while tallying 70 strikeouts. Freshman right-hander AJ Ciscar contributed 19 to that total in the 17.2 innings he pitched.
