Three Hurricanes Selected on Final Day of NFL Draft

CORAL GABLES, Fla. – Three Miami Hurricanes were selected Saturday  on the final day of the 2024 NFL Draft.

Jaden Davis (Arizona Cardinals), Matt Lee (Cincinnati Bengals) and James Williams (Tennessee Titans) were all selected in the seventh round, joining Kam Kinchens (Los Angeles Rams, third round) as Hurricanes picks in 2024.

In his lone season at Miami, Davis served as an important contributor for the secondary in 2023. He played in all 13 games and made 12 starts, finishing with 42 total tackles, one sack and three tackles for loss. Davis, who was taken with the 226th overall pick, also added four PBUs last fall.

Lee was chosen with 237th overall pick by the Bengals. After a standout career at UCF, Lee joined Miami and made an immediate impact. A second-team All-ACC selection in 2023, Lee was a key member of an offensive line named to the midseason honor roll for the Joe Moore Award honoring the nation’s top unit.

Williams, a three-year starter for Miami, finished an impressive career with the Hurricanes with 162 total tackles. Williams made 29 starts, saw action in 33 games and totaled four interceptions and 17 pass breakups over his career. The Fort Lauderdale, Fla , native was taken with the 242nd overall pick by the Titans.

The selection of Kinchens in the third round on Friday marked 50 straight years at least one Miami Hurricane has been selected, extending the fourth-longest streak nationwide.
