Hurricanes Travel to FAU for Fall Exhibition

BOCA RATON, Fla. — The University of Miami baseball team is set for its fall exhibition game as the Hurricanes travel to play FAU Saturday.

First pitch is scheduled for 12:30 p.m. at FAU Baseball Stadium, with admission free to the public. The contest will be a controlled 12-inning scrimmage.

Last season, Miami finished with a 40-20 overall mark, pacing the ACC with 20 conference wins. The Hurricanes were ranked as high as No. 2 nationally, after posting a 14-game winning streak, the program’s longest in eight years.

Six Canes earned All-ACC distinction, including returners CJ Kayfus, Karson Ligon, Yohandy Morales and Andrew Walters.

Miami welcomes 19 newcomers, with 12 freshmen, a quartet of four-year transfers and three junior-college transfers, joining the 20 returning letter winners.

This exhibition will serve as the Hurricanes’ lone game against another university in the fall, but Miami will participate in its annual Orange and Green World Series, beginning Wednesday at Mark Light Field.
