Reyes Named ACC Co-Player of the Week

GREENSBORO, N.C. – After a standout first weekend at the plate with the No. 24 Hurricanes, Miami’s Danny Reyes was voted the ACC Baseball Co-Player of the Week, the conference office announced Monday.

ACC weekly honors are determined by a vote of a select media panel. This is the first career weekly league honor for Reyes, who shared the honor with Notre Dame’s Eric Gilgenbach.

Reyes powered Miami to a series win over Rutgers in his first weekend as a Hurricane.

The outfielder/designated hitter, who spent his freshman season at Florida, had multi-hit games in all three of the matchups with Rutgers, and totaled a team-best eight hits, four RBI, four doubles and one home run – a two-run shot in his Miami debut.

The Miami Springs, Florida, native slugged 1.364 for the weekend and reached base at a. 692 clip.

Miami continues a season-opening seven-game homestand Wednesday with a matchup against Missouri. First pitch for the contest, slated for broadcast on ACC Network Extra, 790 The Ticket and WVUM 90.5 FM, is set for 6 p.m.
