16 Hurricanes Earn All-ACC Recognition

CORAL GABLES, Fla. – A total of 16 Miami Hurricanes were among those recognized with all-conference recognition, the Atlantic Coast Conference announced Monday.

Headlined by senior kicker Michael Badgley’s selection to the All-ACC First Team, 10 Hurricanes were named first-, second- or third-team All-ACC, while another six players earned All-ACC Honorable Mention recognition.

Miami’s 10 selections across the three teams were the second-most of any team in the conference, trailing only Clemson’s 13 All-ACC honorees.

Senior tight end Christopher Herndon IV, sophomore running back Travis Homer, junior defensive lineman RJ McIntosh, sophomore linebacker Shaq Quarterman, junior cornerback Michael Jackson and junior safety Jaquan Johnson were all named to the All-ACC Second Team.

Senior wide receiver Braxton Berrios, senior left tackle Kc McDermott and senior defensive lineman Trent Harris were all named to the All-ACC Third Team.

Six more Hurricanes were among those who picked up All-ACC Honorable Mention recognition: freshman offensive lineman Navaughn Donaldson, junior center Tyler Gauthier, senior guard Trevor Darling, junior defensive lineman Kendrick Norton, sophomore linebacker Michael Pinckney and sophomore cornerback Malek Young.

Berrios, a third-team All-ACC honoree at wide receiver, earned Honorable Mention recognition for his contributions as a special teams player.

The honor was the third of Badgley’s career but first first-team recognition. Norton and Quarterman, who were both named third-team All-ACC by ACC coaches a season ago, picked up the second honor of their careers.

The other 13 Hurricanes earning all-conference recognition did so for the first time in their Miami careers.
