CANES TRAVEL TO SOUTH BEND
• After capturing a 4-0 win over FGCU on April 5 in Fort Myers, No. 2 Miami continues a four-game road swing with its first trip to South Bend, Ind., for a series against Notre Dame since 1999.
• The Hurricanes carry a 17-6 lead in the all-time head-to-head series against the Fighting Irish, including a 4-1 mark in road games. UM walked off against Notre Dame 6-5 in a 2015 ACC Championship game in Durham, N.C, and won two of three in the 2014 regular season.
• Miami (24-4) has won 19 of its past 21 games and sits in first place in the ACC’s Coastal Division with a 10-2 conference record.
MORRIS EARNS MILESTONE WINS IN STYLE
• With a walk-off grand slam by junior Willie Abreu vs. Louisville on March 18, Miami head coach Jim Morris became just the sixth coach in history of Division I baseball to reach the 1,500-win milestone.
• A little over a week later, Morris became the second coach in the history of Miami baseball to win 1,000 games when the Hurricanes walked off against Clemson 5-4 on March 26 (Ron Fraser – 1,267).
• With a 4-0 win over FGCU on April 5, Morris moved Larry Hays (1,508) as the fifth-winningest coach in Division I history by wins.
• Since his arrival in 1994, UM’s 1,005 wins are sixth-most in D1.
BUILDING A RESUME
• In early Preseason ‘Field of 64 projections’ by both Baseball America and D1Baseball.com this week, Miami was projected to be the No. 2 national seed for the NCAA postseason.
• In the first NCAA RPI release of the 2016 season on April 5, Miami was No. 2, trailing only Florida. The Hurricanes have nine wins against the RPI top 25 (9-3) and are 12-3 against the RPI top 100.
LOOKING FOR A THREE-PEAT
• Miami won its second straight ACC Coastal Division title in 2015, posting a 22-8 record in ACC play to earn the division crown.
• The Hurricanes, who were picked to win the ACC Coastal Division once again in 2016, won 46 ACC games over the 2014-2015 seasons – the second-best two-year stretch by any program since ACC expanded to a 30-game conference schedule prior to 2005.
• Miami has won the ACC Regular Season Championship twice, most recently in 2014 when the Canes finished 24-6; the Hurricanes won the ACC regular season crown & ACC Tournament in 2008.
