Home Sweet Home

• After capturing its third consecutive ACC weekend series, Miami opens a nine-game homestand Wednesday against Bethune- Cookman. Only six of Miami’s 27 remaining games are on the road.

• The Hurricanes hold a commanding 28-5 all-time series lead against the Wildcats, and won three of four games against B-CU in 2014 – including twice in the NCAA Coral Gables Regional.

• Miami is 13-2 in games played at Mark Light Field this season, and has won seven straight home series dating back to 2014. UM has one more game against Bethune-Cookman (May 6) this season.

Heating Up

• Sophomore second baseman Johnny Ruiz went 4-for-9 (.444) in Miami’s series win at North Carolina, and delivered the game-winning hit in a 4-3 comeback win in Game 1. His sacrifice fly in the 10th inning of Game 2 put Miami ahead 3-2.

• Junior lefthander Thomas Woodrey has tossed at least 6.0 innings in all six of his starts – he has allowed two earned runs or fewer in five of his six starts on the mound.

• Over the last 10 games, redshirt sophomore Christopher Barr is batting .364 (12-for-33) with nine runs, two doubles and three steals.

• In his past three relief appearances, senior righthander Ryan Otero has totaled zero baserunners in 5.0 innings with two strikeouts.

• Senior Garrett Kennedy has batted .351 in ACC play (13-for-37) with two home runs, seven RBI and an on-base percentage of .468.

Shut Them Down

• Miami’s bullpen has recorded a 2.50 ERA in 119.0 combined innings this season, and has been a key reason for UM’s success.

• Among the Hurricanes’ top arms out of the bullpen: sophomore All-American closer Bryan Garcia (1.93 ERA, five saves), freshman lefthander Michael Mediavilla (2.51 ERA,15 appearances, 20 Ks, just six BBs), senior walk-on Daniel Briggi (1.96 ERA, 14 Ks) and righthanded sidewinder Cooper Hammond (2.95 ERA, 15 appearances).

• In Miami’s sweep of NC State, relievers combined to toss 15.0 innings, surrendering just seven hits and two runs (1.20 ERA).

• Miami’s staff ERA to open the week (3.42) was the fifth-best mark in the ACC.
