Two Sophomores Named Preseason All-Americans
CORAL GABLES, Fla. — Sophomores Zack Collins and Bryan Garcia were among those recognized with Preseason All-America honors from two major college baseball outlets Tuesday.
Collins picked up first-team honors from D1Baseball.com and the National Collegiate Baseball Writers Association (NCBWA). Garcia, who earned NCBWA All-America honors after a dominant freshman season, was one of five first-team selections at relief pitcher by the organization.
Collins, who put together one of the best freshman seasons in program history en route to ACC Rookie of the Year honors in 2014, has earned Preseason All-America recognition from five outlets: Baseball America, Perfect Game, Collegiate Baseball Newspaper, D1Baseball.com and NCBWA.
Garcia was also named a Preseason All-American by Collegiate Baseball Newspaper and Perfect Game.
