@CanesBaseball Opens Fall Practice Monday
CORAL GABLES, Fla. – The University of Miami baseball team will open fall practice at Alex Rodriguez Park at Mark Light Field on Monday, Oct. 20.
“It’s fun. I’m looking forward to fall just because we have some unknowns,” head coach Jim Morris said. “We have some good young players in after getting in another good recruiting class, and they go on top of some talented guys we have returning.”
The Hurricanes will practice Monday through Saturday each week through Nov. 21, which will mark the end of fall ball and “Scout Day” at Mark Light Field. Miami is scheduled to take the field 2:30-5:30 p.m. on weekdays, while Saturday practices are scheduled to go from 10 a.m. – 1 p.m.
The team will not practice on Sundays in the fall.
The Orange & Green World Series will take place across six days – from Nov. 10 through Nov. 15. Games 1 & 2 are set for Nov. 10 and Nov. 11, while Games 3, 4 & 5 are slated for Nov. 13, Nov. 14 and Nov. 15.
“It’ll be interesting to see how the guys who were here last year have improved, and how good some of these newcomers are,” Morris said.
All practices will take place at Alex Rodriguez Park at Mark Light Field, and are open to the public.
