Two More for 52: DP on Butkus, Lombardi Lists

CORAL GABLES, Fla. – Miami Hurricanes senior LB Denzel Perryman has been named to the preseason watch lists for the Butkus and Rotary Lombardi awards. Both watch lists were released Monday by the FWAA.

Perryman has now been named to the watch list for four major national defensive awards. Earlier this month, the Coral Gables, Fla., product was named to the Bednarik Award and Bronko Nagurski Trophy watch lists. He has also been named to the CFPA Linebacker Trophy watch list.

He and junior RB Duke Johnson will represent the Hurricanes at next week’s 2014 ACC Football Kickoff in Greensboro, N.C.

A 2013 All-ACC First Team selection, Perryman started all 13 games at outside linebacker for the Hurricanes, registering a team-leading 108 total tackles including 69 solo stops. In addition to earning All-America honorable mention honors from SI.com, Perryman was the recipient of the Hurricanes 2013 Hard Hitter Award and Defensive MVP award. The Coral Gables senior is on the Bednarik Award and Nagurski Trophy Preseason Watch Lists.
