• After capturing its sixth consecutive series victory by taking two of three games against Alabama State, Miami wraps up its nonconference schedule with a midweek matchup against FGCU Wednesday at 7 p.m.
• The Hurricanes will be fighting for a season series sweep of the Eagles. Miami won 5-2 in extra innings at Hammond Stadium on March 19, and won 4-0 at Mark Light Field on March 26.
• The Hurricanes hold a commanding all-time series advantage of 10-1-0 over the Eagles. Miami has played 24 non-conference games in 2014, and has gone 15-9 in those games.
STREAKING SUCCESS…
• Miami is the hottest college baseball team in the nation, having won 21 of its last 23 games and is now in sole possession of first place in the ACC.
• With Monday’s No. 8 ranking from Baseball America, Miami has earned its highest ranking from the publication since March 2009.
• The Hurricanes’ current 12-game road winning streak is the second-longest in program history, short of a 16-game run during the team’s 2001 national championship-winning season.
• With its recent impressive stretch, which included the then-nation’s longest winning streak at 14 games, Miami moved into the top five of a national poll for the first time since March 2009 when it was ranked No. 4 by Collegiate Baseball Newspaper on April 28.
• Miami set a new program record with 10 consecutive ACC wins during the 14-game winning streak, besting the previous long (nine consecutive) by one win.
THE 300 CLUB…
• Redshirt junior Bryan Radziewski became just the 13th pitcher in Miami history to record 300 career strikeouts during his start against then-No. 20 Clemson (April 27).
• Radziewski (308) moved into sole possesion of 10th place in program history with seven more strikeouts against Alabama State (May 4). He is the first pitcher to reach 300 since Chris Hernandez did so in 2010.
• Facing the conference’s top statistical offense at Clemson, Radziewski struck out nine batters – just one shy of his season high – including a swinging strikeout of Clemson’s Chris Okey in the fifth inning to officially reach the milestone.
