WQAM Announces Baseball Broadcast Schedule
CORAL GABLES, Fla. – 560 WQAM, the flagship station for the Miami Hurricanes, will broadcast 15 Hurricanes baseball regular season games and all postseason action in 2014, the university announced Thursday. WQAM will be at Alex Rodriguez Park at Mark Light Field for an Opening Day matchup with Maine on Feb. 14, and will also call the final game of the series against the Black Bears. The station will be broadcasting contests from February through May, including full series against Florida (Feb. 21-23), Notre Dame (April 19-21) and North Carolina (May 15-17). Preseason events leading up to Opening Day include the annual First Pitch Banquet (Feb. 6) and Old Times & Alumni Games (Feb. 8). The 2014 First Pitch Banquet will feature a keynote address from four-time MLB All-Star and three-time World Series champion Mike Lowell. In addition, there will be an auction featuring memorabilia and other Hurricanes merchandise, a presentation by head coach Jim Morris and a multi-course dinner.
