Coley Named FWAA Freshman All-American

CORAL GABLES, Fla. – Miami Hurricanes freshman kick returner Stacy Coley was named to the 2013 Football Writers Association of America Freshman All-America Team, the organization announced Monday.

Coley is Miami’s sixth FWAA Freshman All-America selection and is one of five ACC players named to the team, joining Florida State QB Jameis Winston, Virginia Tech DB Kendall Fuller, Florida State DB Jalen Ramsey and North Carolina PR Ryan Switzer.

A first-team True Freshman All-America selection by 247Sports.com, Coley played in all 13 games for the Canes and made seven starts at receiver. He led the team with 1,461 all-purpose yards – the 10th-highest single-season total in school history. He posted 10 touchdowns and was the only FBS player in 2013 to record a TD via rushing (1), receiving (7), kick return (1) and punt return (1).

The Pompano Beach, Fla., product finished his rookie season with 33 receptions for 591 yards and seven TDs. He also added 570 kick return yards on 22 returns and 220 punt return yards on 10 returns.
