Nedeljkovic, Salas Named All-ACC Academic
GREENSBORO, N.C. – Eric Nedeljkovic and Javi Salas were among the baseball student-athletes recognized with All-ACC Academic honors, the conference office announced Monday.
To be eligible for All-ACC Academic consideration, a student-athlete must have earned a 3.00 grade point average for the previous semester and maintained a 3.00 cumulative average during his academic career.
Nedeljkovic, who graduated in May with a bachelor’s degree in liberal arts, was selected by the Colorado Rockies in the 21st round of the 2013 Major League Baseball First-Year Player Draft in early June. A Folsom, Calif., native and 2013 NCBWA Stopper of the Year candidate, Nedeljkovic ended the regular season ranked first in the conference in saves (13) and led Miami relievers with a 1.37 ERA.
Salas, a rising senior majoring in accounting, was selected by the Minnesota Twins in the 38th round of the MLB Draft. The Coral Gables, Fla., native, who was named a team captain prior to the season, ended the year with a 5-5 record and 3.18 ERA in 17 appearances on the mound.
