CORAL GABLES, Fla. – Dodging the afternoon thunderstorms, the Miami Hurricanes managed to complete their fourth two-a-day of #CanesCamp Thursday, their second two-a-day in three days.
Miami is nearing the stretch run of #CanesCamp. The Hurricanes will have one more practice Friday before holding their second and final fall scrimmage Saturday afternoon. Miami will have four more practices after that before camp breaks Wednesday.
“They have to fight through it – the proverbial wall,” second-year head coach Al Golden said. “Again, there’s no light at the end of the tunnel right now.
“We have a long way to go,” Golden said. “We’re not where we need to be right now, but we’re very pleased because we haven’t had many injuries, knock on wood.”
The Canes donned full pads in the morning and jersey tops and shorts in the afternoon.
Morning temperatures neared 90 degrees with 85 percent humidity. Thanks to midday thunderstorms and afternoon clouds, the players got a slight reprieve in the afternoon as both the temperature and humidity dropped slightly and the wind picked up.
In preparation for the 2012 season, the University of Miami will be hosting its annual BankUnited CanesFest on Sat., Aug. 18, from 4-7 p.m. at the BankUnited Center on the UM campus. Fans in attendance will have the chance to pick up the new 2012 Miami Football poster, receive autographs from Hurricane players and coaches, purchase season tickets, and much more.
Prior to practice head coach Al Golden, QB Stephen Morris, TE Clive Walford and DB Kacy Rodgers II met with reporters and talked about the progress of #CanesCamp.
