Saturday Baseball Against Boston College Cancelled
April 2, 2011
CHESTNUT HILL, Mass. – Saturday’s Atlantic Coast Conference (ACC) baseball game between the University of Miami and Boston College has been cancelled due to the field conditions at Eddie Pellagrini Diamond at Commander Shea Field on the BC campus.
The Boston area was hit by a nor’easter Friday evening accompanied by freezing rain and snow. As of Saturday morning, Eddie Pellagrini Diamond at Commander Shea Field still had snow on it – forcing the already rescheduled game to be moved again. Friday’s originally scheduled series-opener was cancelled due to the same weather conditions.
The two teams will meet on Sunday for a doubleheader, with the first game scheduled to begin at 11 a.m. The second game will start approximately 30 minutes upon the conclusion of the first game.
Sunday’s doubleheader will be carried live on WVUM 90.5 – the student voice for the University of Miami Hurricanes, and can be accessed anywhere in the world online at WVUM.org. Corey Richard and Ian Hest will have the call live from the ballpark.
Live stats for the game will be provided through Game Tracker at HurricaneSports.com. Fans can also join the live chat, provided by Cover It Live, by visiting HurricaneSports.com as well.
