March 23, 2011

Coral Gables, Fla. – The University of Miami continues its six-game homestand Wednesday, hosting Florida Gulf Coast for a single game inside Alex Rodriguez Park at 6 p.m. Miami defeated UCF last night by a score of 4-1 on the strength of a career-high pitching by Steven Ewing – a grand slam in the sixth inning from sophomore Michael Broad.

The Hurricanes (13-8) enter Wednesday’s game riding a season-long eight game win streak, including victories in six consecutive Atlantic Coast Conference (ACC) games for the first time since 2008. The 6-0 start for UMiami in league play is its best since 2006.
