UMiami Baseball to be Televised 12 Times during 2011 Season
Feb. 14, 2011
Greensboro, N.C. – The Atlantic Coast Conference released its television schedule for the upcoming 2011 baseball season on Monday, Feb. 14, and the University of Miami has the second-most televised games this year with 12. At least 44 baseball games featuring Atlantic Coast Conference teams are scheduled to be telecast during the 2011 season, Commissioner John Swofford announced.
The Hurricanes will have 12 nationally and regionally televised games this year. CSS will carry 11 games, while RSN will carry the other two remaining contests. Headlining this year’s slate of television games are complete series against nationally-ranked opponents Florida State, Georgia Tech and North Carolina.
The slate of games includes eight Saturday afternoon broadcasts of ACC games on the Regional Sports Network, a group of regionally-based outlets that will provide coverage to all areas of the league’s geographical footprint. In addition, RSN will carry all 13 games of the 2011 ACC Championship, scheduled for May 25-29 at Durham (N.C.) Bulls Athletic Park. This will mark the fourth consecutive season that RSN will carry all of the ACC Championship games live.
Of the Hurricanes’ 12 televised contests, seven will take place in Coral Gables inside Alex Rodriguez Park. Only Florida State’s 15 games and Miami’s 13-game slate features double-digit contests on television this season. The third-most is a tie between UNC and Georgia Tech, each participating in six TV games – three of those for each competitor versus UMiami.
