Miami Baseball Set to Open Spring Practice

Under the direction of head coach Jim Morris, the University of Miami baseball team is set to begin spring practice on Friday, Jan. 28, at Alex Rodriguez Park starting at 2:30 p.m. Jim Morris and student-athletes will be available to speak to the media prior to the beginning of practice.
IN THE POLLS
The University of Miami enters the 2011 season ranked in two preseason polls released up to this point. The Hurricanes highest ranking is No. 18 in the preseason Collegiate Baseball Newspaper poll. In the Collegiate Baseball Lineup preseason poll, the ‘Canes begin the season at No. 24.
THE BATTER’S BOX
The University of Miami baseball team has made an NCAA record 38 consecutive regional appearances, including 17 under the watchful eye of Jim Morris, now beginning his 18th year at the helm in Coral Gables.
ON DECK
The 18th-ranked University of Miami Hurricanes will open the 2011 season with a three-game slate against Rutgers University at Alex Rodriguez Park in Coral Gables, Fla.
