Ryan Braun To Throw Out First Pitch Of Miami-Duke Series

CORAL GABLES, Fla. – Former University of Miami infielder and current National League All-Star Ryan Braun is scheduled to throw out the ceremonial first pitch of tonight’s baseball game between Miami and Duke at Alex Rodriguez Park at Mark Light Field.
Braun is scheduled to throw out the first pitch at approximately 6:50 p.m., about 15 minutes before Miami’s Chris Hernandez will open the three-game set against the Blue Devils.
An outfielder on the USA Baseball team, Braun was named National Freshman of the Year for the Hurricanes in 2003 and the 2005 ACC Player of the Year.
Braun, an All-American at Miami, was drafted by the Milwaukee Brewers with the fifth overall pick in the 2005 MLB Draft.
Beginning his third season in the major leagues, Braun has achieved several significant accomplishments, having been named the NL Rookie of the Year in 2007 and selected to the National League All Star team in 2008.
Braun and Team USA open second round play this weekend at Dolphin Stadium.
