Hurricanes Continue Preparations For Final Orange Bowl Game
Nov. 7, 2007
Coral Gables – The Miami Hurricanes football team worked out for two hours this afternoon in preparation for their home finale – and their last game in the Orange Bowl – Saturday night against Virginia.
Coach Randy Shannon walked off the field after practice and quipped to reporters, “Nothing happened at practice today.”
Shannon then talked about the competition at placekicker, where Daren Daly, Francesco Zampogna and Matt Bosher are vying for the job in practice, and at left guard, where senior Andrew Bain is being pushed by freshmen Orlando Franklin and Joel Figueroa. He has not named a starter at those two positions.
Shannon added that quarterback Kyle Wright practiced the entire session and is nearly fully recovered from a sprained ankle.
The team will practice again at 3:20 p.m. Thursday at the Greentree Practice Fields.
