2011 COMMUNITY SERVICE MAN OF THE YEAR AWARD

2011 (GRAD STUDENT): Played in seven games, including a start in the season opener against Maryland … One of the longest tenured Hurricanes on the roster … Completed the season with an overall grade of 75 percent … Recorded an 87 percent finishing grade for the season … Four-year letterman.

2010 (SENIOR): Played in UM’s first four games, garnering starts at right tackle at Ohio State (Sept. 11) and at Pittsburgh (Sept. 23) … Missed the remainder of the season with an injury … Was granted a sixth year of eligibility by the NCAA and will be eligible to play in 2011.

2009 (JUNIOR): Graded out at 89 percent with 33 pancake blocks while starting nine of 12 games at right guard … Best performances came against Georgia Tech (97 percent grade, five pancake blocks); Oklahoma (94 percent grade, four pancake blocks); Clemson (95 percent grade, three pancake blocks); Wake Forest (93 percent grade, four pancake blocks) and at USF (95 percent grade, 10 pancake blocks) … Has helped a Miami offense rack up 5,199 yards (3,405 passing, 1,794 rushing), which is the most since the 2004 season (4,593 yards) as the Miami offense is in line to become just the eighth team in school history to gain 5,000 yards in a season.

2008 (SOPHOMORE): Played in all 13 games at right guard with starts against Charleston Southern, Florida, North Carolina and NC State … Graded out at 93 percent and tallied 38 pancake blocks at right guard … Registered a season-high seven pancake blocks against Florida State and added six pancakes against Charleston Southern and five at NC State … Graded out a season-high 97 percent against North Carolina … Also played well at NC State, grading 96 percent with five pancake blocks … Saw action in a season-high 52 plays twice (Florida State and NC State).

2007 (REDSHIRT FRESHMAN): Played in seven games, but saw increased playing time in the last month of the season … Played much of the final two games of the season at left guard … Saw reserve action at right guard in the fourth quarter in the first game of his collegiate career against Marshall … Also saw action against, Texas A&M, Duke, North Carolina, Georgia Tech, Florida State, NC State, Virginia Tech and Boston College.

2006 (REDSHIRT): Redshirted as a true freshman, but impressed the coaches with his work on the scout team.

HIGH SCHOOL: Two-year starter who played left tackle and graded out at 90 percent as a senior … Also played part-time on defense … Played in the Dade-Broward All-Star game … Coached by Leonard Graham.
