JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – (www.hurricanesports.com) – Miami, the No. 5 seed in the 2006 Atlantic Coast Conference Tournament, will face No. 4 seed Georgia Tech in the opening round at the Baseball Grounds of Jacksonville at 4 p.m. on Wednesday, May 24. It will be the fourth-consecutive meeting between the two teams, who finished the regular season with a three-game series in Atlanta last week.The Hurricanes (35-19 overall, 17-13 ACC) won the series opener against the Yellow Jackets (42-14, 19-11) but lost the final two games of the series. Clemson earned the No. 1 seed after posting a 24-6 league record and winning the ACC’s Atlantic Division. North Carolina won the ACC Coastal Division with a 22-8 conference record. Florida State, N.C. State and Wake Forest all finished in a tie at 16-13. The Seminoles went 3-2 against the Wolfpack and Demon Deacons to earn the No. 6 seed. N.C. State was 3-3 against the two teams for the No. 7 seed.
