Miami Begins Fall Baseball Practice Friday

CORAL GABLES, Fla. – The University of Miami baseball program will begin its fall practice schedule on Friday, Nov. 4 at Mark Light Field at 2:15 p.m. All fall practices are open to the public and media wishing to attend.

Head coach Jim Morris has scheduled 14 practices at Mark Light Field, which is currently undergoing renovations. The practices will be the first chance for Morris to get a look at a team stocked full of new faces.

Five position players and one starting pitcher return from the team that went 41-19-1 and earned a trip to the Lincoln, Neb. Super Regional in 2005. Eighteen new Hurricanes will vie for roster spots.

The practice schedule is as follows:

Practices were originally to be held at Columbus High School, but damage from Hurricane Wilma forced the practice site to be moved back to Mark Light Field.

While construction is going on, fans and media are being asked to enter via the right or left field foul lines or the entrance on Ponce De Leon Boulevard.
