Burt Named CSTV Student Athlete of the Week

CORAL GABLES, Fla. – Miami’s Jim Burt was named this week’s CSTV Student Athlete of the Week for his outstanding numbers both on and off the field.
Burt, a first-team CoSIDA Academic All-American, carries a 4.0 grade point average in his sports administration masters program. The fifth-year senior from Allendale, N.J., graduated from the University of Miami in May of 2003 with a degree in business and a 3.82 grade point average.
On the field, the first baseman leads the Hurricanes with 12 home runs, 60 RBI, 22 doubles, eight game-winning hits, 58 runs scored and a .656 slugging percentage.
Burt is a three-time CoSIDA Academic all-district III honoree and the winner of UM’s Bowman Foster Ashe Award for the outstanding student athlete. He is also a member of the President’s, Provost’s and Athletic Director’s Honor Rolls.
