Coral Gables, Fla. (www.hurricanesports.com) – Former University of Miami tight end and Cleveland Brown first-round draft pick Kellen Winslow II will appear at the Miami vs. North Carolina baseball game Friday, May 14th, to throw out the ceremonial first pitch. Game time is set for 8 p.m. with gates opening at 6:30 pm for advanced ticket holders.

Winslow, a 6-5 243-pound tight end, was the sixth overall selection of the Cleveland Browns and one of an NFL record six Hurricanes selected in the first round. One of the finest tight ends to ever suit up for the Hurricanes, the two-year starter hauled in 119 passes for 1,365 yards (11.5 avg.) and nine touchdowns in 38 games. His 119 catches rank fifth on Miami’s career-record list and is most ever by a Miami tight end.

The third-ranked University of Miami baseball team continues its 22-game homestand with the North Carolina Tar Heels this weekend. The Hurricanes are coming off a weekend sweep of the Jacksonville Dolphins.

Tickets are still available, and can be purchased by calling 305-284-CANES in Dade or toll free at 1-800-GO-CANES.
