Hurricanes Travel to No. 13 Florida State

CORAL GABLES, Fla. — The fifth-ranked Miami Hurricanes take to the road for the second straight weekend to close out a six-game road trip against the 13th-ranked Florida State Seminoles at Dick Howser Stadium in Tallahassee.
Game times are set for 7 p.m. on Friday and Saturday with the series finale Sunday slated for 1 p.m.
Friday and Sunday’s games will be broadcast live on the Sunshine Network with Gene Deckerhoff and Tom Block calling the action.
The student voice of the Hurricanes, WVUM, 90.5 will carry all three games from Tallahassee with Jesse Agler and Darren Grossman on play-by-play and color.
Dan Touchet will get the start on the mound in Friday night’s opener. Touchet is 4-1 on the season with a 4.11 ERA, and is coming off of his first loss of the season against Georgia Tech. FSU will counter with right-handed pitcher Eddie Cannon (7-2, 2.44 ERA).
UM’s hard-throwing right-hander Cesar Carrillo will take the hill on Saturday with a 4-0 mark and a 3.06 ERA. Florida State will start right-hander Mark Sauls (3-1, 3.02 ERA).
The series finale on Sunday will pit UM’s junior left-hander Brandon Camardese (3-0, 3.67 ERA) against Florida State’s left-hander Hunter Jones (2-2, 4.21 ERA).
The Seminoles lead the all-time series 125-105-4 dating back to the first meeting between the two schools in 1951. FSU leads the series 69-47-1 in Tallahassee.
Miami enters the game with a .326 team batting average and is averaging 9.2 runs per game, which is on pace to become the fourth-best mark in school history. UM has hit 37 home runs and boasts a team slugging percentage of .527 and an on-base percentage of .428.
The Hurricanes’ pitching staff has a 3.83 ERA and is striking out 8.6 batters per game. Opponents are hitting just .244 against Miami hurlers.
