CORAL GABLES, Fla. — The fifth-ranked Miami Hurricanes travel to Atlanta to face Georgia Tech in a three-game series at Russ Chandler Stadium.

The series begins on Friday at 7 p.m. Saturday’s game, which was originally scheduled for 7 p.m. and scheduled to be broadcast on the Sunshine Network, has been moved to 1 p.m. The move was made to accommodate Georgia Tech with its basketball team playing in the Final Four on Saturday night. Because of the move, the game will not be seen on television. Sunday’s game is slated for a 1 p.m. start as well.

The student voice of the Hurricanes, WVUM 90.5 FM, will be on hand to broadcast all three games.

UM head coach Jim Morris, just two wins shy of 1,000 for his career, will be looking to accomplish that milestone against his former team. Morris’ Hurricanes are 22-5 and ranked fifth nationally heading into the series.

The Hurricanes swept a then-No. 2 ranked Yellow Jackets club last season in Coral Gables. Miami’s trip to Georgia Tech in 2002 saw the Ramblin Wreck win two of three games.

UM holds a 34-14-2 edge in the all-time series, including a 11-8 advantage in Atlanta.

The Hurricanes’ starting rotation for the three-game series is set. Senior right-hander Dan Touchet will get the Friday start. Touchet is 4-0 on the season with a 2.05 ERA.

Cesar Carrillo will start Saturday afternoon’s game. Carrillo is 4-0 on the year with a 2.32 ERA in 31 innings of work. Brandon Camardese (4-0, 1.99 ERA), just off of a one-hit performance versus Penn State, will start the Sunday finale.

Georgia Tech’s rotation will consist of Brian Burks (1-2, 3.12 ERA) on Friday with Andrew Kown (4-1, 3.02 ERA) getting the start on Saturday. The Tech’s Sunday starter has yet to be determined.
