Coral Gables, Fla. (www.hurricanesports.com) – – All 6 South Florida mascots, including World Series Champion Billy the Marlin, will be on hand Friday, February 20th for the Second Annual South Florida Mascot Olympics. The events will be held between innings of the contest between the Miami Hurricanes and the Tennessee Volunteers. Florida Marlins pitcher Dontrelle Willis will be on hand to throw out the ceremonial first pitch.
Some of the expected Olympic style events are the Foul Pole Race and the Silly String Competition. Each event will earn the winners points, with a gold, silver and bronze medal being awarded to the Olympic winners.
