George Steinbrenner to Headline the 2004

CORAL GABLES, Fla. – Head Coach Jim Morris and the Miami baseball team will kickoff the new season with the 2004 “First Pitch” Banquet with feature guest speaker George Steinbrenner on Tuesday, Jan. 27, 2004
Steinbrenner, the owner of the New York Yankees, headlines the event that will be held at the Marriott Biscayne Bay, 1633 North Bayshore Drive. The reception and silent auction starts at 6 p.m. with the dinner and program beginning at 7 p.m.
The cost is $75 for UM baseball season ticket holders and Hurricane Club members. The cost is $100 dollars for everyone else. The advanced registration deadline is Friday, Jan. 23. The Miami baseball team opens its season with the Alumni game on Saturday, Feb. 7, at 7 p.m. and then starts the regular season on Friday, Feb. 13, with a 7 p.m. showdown with the Florida Gators.
