CORAL GABLES, Fla. The University of Miami qualified for its NCAA-record 31st consecutive postseason appearance, earning a No. 8 national seed and the No. 1 seed at the Coral Gables Regional.

Regional play at Mark Light Field is set to get underway at 3:30 p.m. on Friday, May 30th, with second-seed Florida Atlantic (46-14) taking on third-seed Florida (34-19-1). TheHurricanes will then face off with No. 4-seed Bethune-Cookman at 7 p.m.

The winners of Friday’s games will play at 3:30 p.m. on Saturday, May 31st. Friday’s losing teams will play an elimination game at noon on Saturday.

The championship game will be played at 1 p.m. on Sunday, June 1st. The winner will advance to the NCAA Super Regional that begin on Friday, June 6th.

Both Florida Atlantic and Florida earned at-large berths into the field of 64, while Bethune-Cookman made the tournament by winning the MEAC Tournament.

The top-seeded Hurricanes enter their 31st regional with a 39-14-1 record after taking two-of-three games at then-No. 4 ranked Long Beach State.

Miami is hitting .316 as a team and scoring 8.85 runs per game, while the pitching staff sports a 4.14 ERA.

Freshman Ryan Braun leads UM at the plate with a .358 batting average, 14 home runs and 66 RBIs.

UM has faced two of the three team in the Coral Gables Regional this season. The Hurricanes split an early season series with the Gators, winning the first game of the series, 9-2, and dropping game two, 5-3. The final game of the series was rained out. Florida Atlantic visited Mark Light Field in April and left with a 5-3 in 13 innings behind eight innings from Danny Core.
