Jim Burt Honored During Baseball Game

Coral Gables, Fla. (www.hurricanesports.com) — – Hurricanes red-shirt junior first baseman Jim Burt was honored between games of the Saturday, May 17th, doubleheader between the University of Miami and Savannah State.

On Friday, May 9th, Burt graduated from the University of Miami with a degree in Finance. In addition to graduating, Burt was also named to the Verizon Academic All-America All-District III baseball team for the second consecutive year. He joins former Hurricane Alex Santos (1998 & 1999) as the only two-time selection in Hurricanes’ baseball history.

Burt’s name has been added to the national ballot for Academic All-America honors.
