Coral Gables, Fla (www.hurricanesports.com) – The University of Miami announced that the former University of Miami running back Willis McGahee will appear at the Miami vs. Georgia Tech baseball game Saturday, March 29th to throw out the ceremonial first pitch. Game time is set for 7 pm, with the ceremonial first pitch set for 6:50 pm.
McGahee had a breakout season in his third year in the Miami program, finishing fourth in voting for the Heisman Trophy. During the 2002 season, McGahee broke seven Miami records (rushing yards, all-purpose yards, rushing touchdowns, total touchdowns, touchdowns in a game, total points, 100-yard rushing games), posted ten 100+-yard performances, was the 2002 BIG EAST Co-Offensive Player of the Year (with teammate Ken Dorsey) and rushed for a school record 1,686 yards and 27 touchdowns.
