Miami extended its season-high win streak to 11 games.Miami has now won 16 of 18 regionals it has hosted.The Hurricanes improve to 64-10 (.865) in regional games played at Mark Light Stadium.Miami has now won 14 straight post-season games at Mark Light Stadium dating back to the 1998 Atlantic I Regional.Miami advances to face Clemson in next weekend’s Super Regional. Clemson defeated Seton Hall 8-2 this afternoon to win the Clemson Regional.Senior Kevin Brown was named the regional’s Most Outstanding Player after going 5-9 (.556) with three home runs and 11 RBI.Kevin Brown’s performance vs. Stetson in the 2001 Regional

Miami recorded 36 runs on 35 hits during the regional.Jim Morris improves to 30-4 (.882) in regional games at Miami.Miami used three relievers today giving the Hurricanes 197 relief appearances on the season. The 197 relief appearances sets a new NCAA record surpassing the old mark of 194 set by San Diego State in 1982. San Diego State set the record in 91 games that season while Miami broke the record in just 60 games.
STETSON UNIVERSITY
Frank Corr recorded his 18th home run of the season tying the Stetson school record.Corr ends his career with 19 school and/or TAAC records including the Stetson and TAAC career homerun record (53).Stetson is now 0-5 against Miami in regional play with all games being played at Mark Light Stadium.Corr batted 20-for-33 (.606) with five home runs and 17 RBI in eight career NCAA Regional games.Stetson’s 43 wins are the third-most in school history.Christy’s two home run game was the 4th multi-homer game of the season. Christy, a junior, had never had a multi-homer game prior to this season and hod only four career HR’s in his first two seasons. He finished with 16 this season.
