STETSON POST-GAME QUOTES

Head Coach Pete Dunn”All the things that identified yesterday that got us beat against Florida, we did well today. We certainly pitched it well.”

“We played pretty good defense. It looked like we were going to put a lot of runs up on the board, but you have to give them credit – their relief pitcher came in and did a pretty good job shutting us down.”

“I mentioned to the coaches that its been quite a while since we’ve had that congratulatory handshake after a victory. We hadn’t experienced that in about two and half weeks.”

“We’re looking forward to getting the loser of this game. When you’re in the loser’s bracket that’s all you can do – just keep showing up and playing. And we’re looking forward to doing that tonight.”

Starting Pitcher Brian Sullivan

“I like trying to get in a rhythm and stay in that rhythm. I felt like I was working ahead pretty well and that I had command of my pitches. So I try to stay in a rhythm and not let anything bother me.”

“I felt comfortable. I’m just waiting for my chance. I just want to help the club out. I knew it was an elimination game and I sure didn’t want to go home. So I went out there and gave it all I’ve got. I just went out there and threw every pitch like it was my last.”

Third baseman Brian Snyder

“We knew that ‘Sulli’ was out there battling, so whatever we could do to help him we tried to do.”

“I see the ball really good at this park. And I’m getting good pitches to hit.”

Shortstop Rusty Beale”I’ve got nothing but a big smile on my face to know that we are coming back to play later tonight.”

BUCKNELL POST-GAME QUOTES

Head Coach Gene Depew

“Today we struggled offensively. I think that’s the bottom line in this game. Their starting pitcher pitched very well, but I think that we had one of our poorest offensive showings of the year.”

“We had a couple of chances early. The two line drive double plays in the first and second innings were real costly to us.”

“It’s a disappointing loss. I hoped that we could have been a little bit more competitive. But I guess it wasn’t meant to be today.”

Left Fielder Eric Fishman

“We were coming in hoping to be competitive. I think we were definitely competitive especially last night. Today, we didn’t hit the ball as well as we should have but overall we have to be happy with this year.”
