MIAMI POST-GAME QUOTES

Head Coach Jim Morris

“It’s a huge win for us, there is no question about that. It puts us in the driver’s seat.”

“This is the biggest game of the year because the team that loses has to play back to back to win this tournament. It really gets you deep, deep into the pitching staff.”

“I felt like it was a very, very good team effort, offensively, defensively and pitching wise. We made some things happen when we had to.”

Pitcher Tom Farmer

“It is definitely the biggest win I’ve gotten here, that’s for sure. I felt that I did my job.”

Shortstop Javy Rodriguez on beating Florida 13 straight games at Mark Light Stadium

“We haven’t really thought about that during the Regionals. We just came out here to play. They were the home team today and we were the visitors.”

FLORIDA POST-GAME QUOTES

Head Coach Andy Lopez

“We shot ourselves in the foot a little bit by walking so many people. They had some big at bats by both of the Rodriguez players. To the victors go the spoilers. They are well deserving to be in that championship game.”

On losing 13 straight games to Miami at Mark Light Stadium…

“Prior to this year, Miami lost a bunch of games to us in Gainesville. So you could ask them the same question. They play well at home.”

“They did a very good job of shutting our running games down. But we didn’t do a as good a job of shutting their running game down…This is a club that really goes after you on the bases and unless you doa good job with that, they’ll put themselves in a real good position. What we forget sometimes is that they have to get a base hit once they get there. But they came up with some real clutch hits today.”
