Miami Baseball Blasts Florida Atlantic, 11-5

CORAL GABLES, FL – Miami first baseman Lale Esquivel registered his 3rdmulti-homer game of the season, and senior right-hander David Gil (11-2) wentthe distance as the Hurricanes defeated FAU 11-5 in Game 4 of the CoralGables Regional Saturday.
Esquivel went deep in the first and fourth innings, knocking out histeam-best 19th and 20th of the season, and registered five RBI in the game.Esquivel now has 40 career homeruns, ranking 3rd on the Hurricanes’ all-timechart.
Gil pitched six innings of scoreless ball, allowing all five runs in thefirst three innings, and fanned ten to record his second complete game in asmany starts. The ten K’s represent a post-season best for Gil.
With the win, Miami improved to 39-17-1 in regional play and earned a berthin tomorrow’s championship game. The ‘Canes will take on the winner oftonight’s Game 5 between FAU and FIU.
