Baseball Signs Top South Florida Players

Coral Gables, Fla. (www.hurricanesports.com) — – The University of Miami baseball program has signed five of the top players from the South Florida region during this past signing period.
“We feel that some of the best baseball players in the entire country come right out of our backyard,” said Assistant Coach Gino DiMare, the Hurricanes’ recruiting coordinator. “We are very excited to have signed these players to attend the University of Miami.”
Among the players signed to National Letters if Intent were Matt Barket (OF, Miami-Columbus), Paco Figueroa (IF, Miami-Gulliver Prep), Danny Figueroa (OF, Miami-Gulliver Prep), Ryan Sneir (RHP, Coral Springs-Coral Springs HS) and Chris Resop (OF/RHP, Naples-Baron Collier).

The Hurricanes host their annual Alumni Game at Mark Light Stadium on Friday, January 19 and open their 2001 season with a home game against Florida Atlantic on Thursday, January 25 at 7 p.m.
