Baseball Hosts Northwestern tonight at 7 p.m.

Coral Gables, FL – The University of Miami baseball team (19-8-1), ranked 12th in the Baseball Weekly/ESPN Coaches’ Poll, host Big Ten member Northwestern (9-5) on Wednesday, March 22 at 7 p.m. at Mark Light Stadium on the UM campus.
The game will be televised by Fox Sports Net. Student radion WVUM 90.5 FM will broadcast the game on the radio, while WACC 830 AM will have the game in Spanish. Tickets for all UM baseball games can be purchased prior to gameday at the UM Ticket Box Office at the Hecht Athletic Center or one-hour before the game at Mark Light Stadium. The Hurricanes enter the game having taken two of three games from Michigan this past weekend, while garnering a tie, 6-6, in the Sunday game. UM’s offense powered the Hurricanes to 22 runs over the first two games, to just eight by Michigan in 12-5 and 10-3 wins.
On the mound for the Hurricanes will be sophomore RHP Troy Roberson (2-0, 2.37 ERA). Roberson returned to the starting rotation for his last appearance against Iona on March 15, after making his last start at Florida on February 13. Against Iona, Roberson went a pre-game determined four innings for the win, with four hits, one run, no walks and four strikeouts.
Northwestern enters the game on a four-game win streak with its most recent win against Stony Brook, 11-4, on March 20. Additionally, the Wildcats have won nine of the past 11 contests. Sophomore RHP Zach Schara (1-0, 1.61 ERA) gets the start for NU.
